The Top 4 benefits of A Scope and Red Dot Combo

1. A Sight for Every Situation

Having a red dot sight in addition to your variable range scope allows you to better react to changing situations. Having a 4x-16x scope is great for precise shooting at long ranges while the red dot sight allows for rapid target acquisition within 30 meters.

2. Better Field of View

Reduced field of view is one of the trade-offs we accept when using a high magnification scope. This is an inescapable truth. Putting a red dot on top of your scope allows you to aim while having a full 180° view of your surroundings. This makes it easier to identify and sight in targets.

3. Say Goodbye to “Scope Eye”

Having a red dot in addition to your rifle scope gives you more eye relief. The typical rifle scope requires around 3.5 inches of eye relief while a red dot sight has unlimited eye relief. The more eye relief you have, the less likely you are to be hit in the head with your scope upon shooting.

4. Increasing Your Reaction Time

Having an offset red dot sight allows you to quickly transition away from your main optic to take a shot at closer ranges. Upon seeing a target, a red dot allows you to quickly sight it in without having to mess with any dials. The less tinkering you have to do, the quicker you’re prepared to take your shot.
